Panaqolus sp. (L397) com 8-12 cm

Description

Panaqolus sp. (L397)

Family: Loricariidae

Origin: Alenquer- Brazil
The L397 Tiger Pleco is an exceptionally colourful and rare species of loricariid . Its bright orange and black stripes are highly distinctive and are among the most striking colourations of the hundreds of known plecos.

A generally peaceful and hardy species, the L397 Tiger Pleco is an excellent, undemanding candidate for most aquariums.

Diet:  Omnivorous,  As with other Panaqolus, vegetables
It will also enjoy being fed some fresh vegetables, such as peeled peas, spinach, courgette, Brussels sprouts, sweet potato and cucumber, or dry and frozen foods that are very rich in plant matter and wood should form the basic diet for an L397. In addition, they eagerly eat meaty foods such as shrimp, clams and live mosquito larvae; a "meat" meal about 1-3 days per week can help condition the fish for spawning.

FURNISHINGS: The presence of numerous roots, wood logs, and rocks around the aquarium is desirable, since the species spends most of its time attached to them. Plants may be damaged, so they are not necessary.

Water parameters:

Temperature: 24-30 C

pH: 6.4 to 7.4

Hardness: 6-10 dKH

Adult size: 14 cm

Compatibility: Can be kept in a community aquarium with peaceful fish. Peaceful with other species and somewhat territorial with members of the same species.
