Pseudacanthicus sp, L097 - Cactus Pleco 8-12 cm
Description
Pseudacanthicus sp, L097 - Cactus Pleco, 08-12 cm
L097 is one of the most beautiful varieties of Pseudacanthicus. It is an attractively marked, medium-growing species of Pseudacanthicus. This pleco originates in the clear, rocky waters of the middle and upper Rio Tapajos, in Brazil. Territorial and can be aggressive, especially towards other bottom dwellers. It requires a fairly large aquarium with plenty of hiding places, especially if kept with other plecos.
They require well-filtered aquarium water. Oxygenated, frequently changed water is greatly appreciated.
L097 can be territorial. Provide more hiding places to reduce the size of each protected area. Due to their larger size and space requirements, they are recommended for larger tanks (over 150 litres).
Family : Loricariidae
Origin: Rio Tapajós, Brazil
Adult size: 25 cm
pH | 6.0 - 7.5
Temperature : 25ºC - 28ºC
Diet: Carnivore, although not a predator; chopped shrimp and mussels seem to be favourites and promote healthy growth. High-quality pellet foods are well received and greatly reduce the volume of waste produced. Some vegetables should also be provided, thus balancing the diet.
